Surabaya, November 2025 — Exciting news comes from the Master of Biomedical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology, Airlangga University.
Prof. Dr. Khusnul Ain, S.T., M.Si. has successfully obtained a patent with the title of invention “Multifrequency Electrical Impedance Tomography Device” with the number IDS000011307.
This innovation is the result of research and development in Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) technology, an imaging system based on electrical impedance measurements used to detect variations in conductivity within an object, particularly biological tissues. Through its multifrequency design, this device is capable of providing more accurate and responsive imaging results to physiological changes in the observed object.
This success confirms Prof. Khusnul Ain’s significant contribution to the field of biomedical instrumentation, particularly in the development of non-invasive diagnostic technology that supports the advancement of health research and innovation in Indonesia.
With the acquisition of this patent, the Master’s Program in Biomedical Engineering at Airlangga University further strengthens its reputation as an innovation hub that integrates physics, engineering, and medicine to address challenges in modern medical technology.
