Surabaya, October 21, 2025 — The Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Industrial Technology, Sumatra Institute of Technology (ITERA) conducted an academic visit to the Master of Biomedical Engineering Study Program, Airlangga University. The event took place at Maleo Hall, Medang Building, 3rd Floor, Campus B, Airlangga University, and was attended by 4 lecturers and 121 students from ITERA.

The event began at 8:00 AM with an opening session and welcome remarks from Prof. Dr. Prihartini Widiyanti, DDS, S.Bio., M.Kes, CCD, Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Biomedical Engineering at Airlangga University, and Dr. Riries Rulaningtyas, S.T., M.T., Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Program in Biomedical Engineering at Airlangga University. Both expressed their appreciation for this visit as an important step in strengthening academic relations between universities in the field of biomedical engineering.

The event continued with presentations on the study programs offered by both institutions. The UNAIR Master’s Program in Biomedical Engineering presented its vision, mission, and research focus, which is oriented towards medical technology innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. Meanwhile, ITERA also presented its profile and the curriculum development currently being implemented in their institution.

In addition to discussions on potential collaborations and the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, participants also had the opportunity to visit several laboratory facilities used in academic and research activities at the UNAIR Biomedical Engineering Study Program.

The event, which lasted until 12:00 p.m. WIB, concluded with a group photo session and an exchange of souvenirs between representatives of the two institutions. Through this activity, it is hoped that sustainable synergy will be established between Airlangga University and the Sumatra Institute of Technology in an effort to strengthen education and research in the field of Biomedical Engineering in Indonesia.
