Surabaya, December 9, 2025 — The Airlangga University Biomedical Engineering Master’s Program successfully held a public lecture attended by academics and alumni from various study programs at the Faculty of Engineering, Dian Nuswantoro University, Semarang, Central Java, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. The event was attended by participants from the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Program, Bachelor of Industrial Engineering Program, and Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering Program.

With the theme “The Development of Implants and Medical Devices as Bioproducts in the Field of Medicine Based on Biomaterials, Tissue, and Artificial Organ Engineering, and the Role of Biomedical Engineering Education in Welcoming the Era of Independent Biomaterials in Indonesia,” this public lecture aimed to explore the latest innovations in the field of medicine focusing on biomaterials engineering and medical product development. The speaker for this public lecture was Prof. Dr. Prihartini Widiyanti, drg., M.Kes, S. Bio, CCD, who is the Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Biomedical Engineering at Airlangga University. During the session, she shared her knowledge and the latest concepts regarding implants and medical devices, emphasizing the importance of biomedical engineering education in supporting the development of this field in Indonesia. The public lecture took place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. WIB and was held online via the Zoom Meeting platform, allowing for broad participation and effective interaction between the speaker and participants.

This event was a positive step in strengthening the synergy between education and research in the biomedical field, as well as providing valuable insights for participants to face challenges in the era of developing health technology.
