Surabaya, December 3, 2025 — The Airlangga University Biomedical Engineering Master’s Program is once again holding a public lecture open to all academics and alumni from various study programs at the Airlangga University Vocational Faculty. The event involved participants from the following programs: D4 Radiology Imaging Technology, D4 Instrumentation and Control Engineering Technology, D4 Medical Laboratory Technology, D4 Physiotherapy, D4 Computer Science, D4 Occupational Safety and Health, and D4 Traditional Medicine.<\/p>\n

The public lecture, held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, via the Zoom Meeting platform, raised the theme:
\u201cThe Development of Implants and Medical Devices as Bioproducts in the Field of Medicine Based on Biomaterials, Tissue, and Artificial Organ Engineering, and the Role of Biomedical Engineering Education in Welcoming the Era of Indonesian Biomaterials Independence.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event featured Prof. Dr. Prihartini Widiyanti, drg., M.Kes., S.Bio., CCD, Head of the Master’s Program in Biomedical Engineering at Airlangga University, as the main speaker. In her presentation, she explained the latest developments in implant and medical device technology, which are now increasingly integrated with biomaterial engineering, tissue engineering, and artificial organ technology.<\/p>\n

In addition to discussing scientific innovations, Prof. Prihartini also emphasized the importance of the contribution of education, particularly Biomedical Engineering, in supporting Indonesia’s independence in the development of biomaterials and health bioproducts. This is part of the nation’s strategic efforts to enter the era of biomaterial independence, where medical device needs can be met through domestic innovation.<\/p>\n

The public lecture, which took place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time, was met with great enthusiasm from the participants. Not only did it provide academic insights, but this event also opened up an interactive discussion between the speakers and participants regarding the challenges and opportunities for the development of medical bioproducts in Indonesia.<\/p>\n

Through the organization of this public lecture, the Master’s Program in Biomedical Engineering at Airlangga University aims to continue strengthening the education, research, and innovation ecosystem in the biomedical field and prepare high-quality human resources to embrace the advancement of national health technology.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
