PENELITIAN MAHASISWA DENGAN JUDUL PENGGUNAAN SILK FIBROIN SCAFFOLD UNTUK CEDERA MENISKUS: SYSTEMATIC REVIEW.u00a0Berikut ini abstract penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Rahma Ajeng Puspitasari, S.T.

Meniscus injury is one of the most frequently treated knee injuries worldwide. Untreated meniscus injuries can cause joints
degenerative such as osteoarthritis (OA). To treat meniscus injuries, athroscopy or partial meniscectomy is generally
performed. But partial meniscectomy procedure can lead to OA. Due to the limitations of allograft and autograft to replace
the damaged meniscus, tissue engineering using scaffold is an alternative in meniscus repair. Silk fibroin (SF) material
which is biocompatible, biodegradable, and good mechanical properties has chondroprotective properties and can be used
in meniscus repair. The purpose of the systematic review in this study was to determine the relationship of silk fibroin to the
structural morphology, mechanical and biological properties of the meniscus scaffold. Article searches were conducted on
three databases, from a total of 104 studies, 13 studies were found that met the eligibility for qualitative studies. Data
extraction was carried out by reading the full article by taking morphological assessment data such as scanning electron
microscopy (SEM) or micro-CT (m-CT); mechanical properties such as compression and tensile modulus; and biological
properties including assesment of cell viability and toxicity also histological-immunohistochemical evaluation as
confirmation of the regenerated tissue. Based on data analysis, it is proven that SF has an influence on
architecture/morphology, mechanical properties, and biological properties in supporting tissue engineering in meniscus
injuries.
